AIR TRAVEL (All international flights)

  • A passport book is required for travelers of all ages.

SEA TRAVEL (Travel from/to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, or the Caribbean)

  • A passport is generally required.

  • An exception exists for closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same U.S. port and travel only within the Western Hemisphere): in this case, a government-issued photo ID plus an original or certified birth certificate is acceptable (requirements may vary by cruise line).

  • Both a passport book and passport card are acceptable for sea travel.

  • Children under 16 may travel with just an original or certified birth certificate.

LAND TRAVEL (Crossing the border from/to Canada or Mexico)

  • A passport book or passport card is required.

  • Children under 16 may enter with only an original or certified birth certificate.
